Our Economy

Our Government takes money from us in the form of taxes and then gives it to those they think need it. Consider those who have lost their jobs and cannot find work. They may receive unemployment benefits. As the unemployed numbers increase, the amount of taxes decreases since those people have no earnings. At the same time, the amount needed for benefits increases.

Example: A. 1000 workers paying $500 each in taxes is $500,000. If all are employed, the workers receive no unemployment benefits.
B. 900 workers paying $500 each in taxes is $450,000. 100 workers receive unemployment benefits.
C. 800 workers paying $500 each in taxes is $400,000. 200 workers receive unemployment benefits
Less money to help more people.
What can be done?
1. Reduce benefits to unemployed.
2. Get unemployed jobs.
3. Raise taxes on employed.
